Post Traumatic Stress
An NLP Approach
It is estimated that over one quarter of the USA population is
or will be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD).
Victims of rape, domestic violence, terrorism or disaster often
are unable to escape the symptoms of PTSD. Each encounter with situations,
items people, or places that are similar to the traumatic events
propel them back into reliving the event. Their lives remain controlled
by threats of reoccurrence.
Through the utilization of NLP models, we will explore reactions
to events. We will use techniques that provide step by step strategies
to separate the victim from their attachment to the trauma.
These models were developed from the work that resulted from the
Active Ingredient Project held at Florida State University. Changing
Psychological Landscapes include NLP techniques, Visual Kinesthetic
Dissassociation and Redecision Therapy. You will be able to blend
these models with your current therapeutic millieu and enable the
client to use their own strengths and personal resources.
