CLASSICAL, ERICKSONIAN AND NLP APPROACHES TO HYPNOSIS



Hypnosis should be an integral part of your clinical tool kit!!

Hypnosis provides a gentle and effective model for working with clients in the areas of depression, anticipatory anxiety, phobia, trauma, pain, habit control and with social relationships. It provides an effective way to create profound and permanent change.

Classical and the latest brief therapy approaches provide complements to everyone's personal therapeutic style.

You will leave this training with the ability to do the required hypnotic phenomenon and trance processes including inductions, guided imagery, progressive relaxation, metaphor development and delivery and the latest brief therapy approaches for trauma, phobia, pain and grief from the fields of NLP and neuroscience.

50 Hour Basic & Advanced

Learning Objectives

  • Basic skills for trance recognition
  • Over twenty induction techniques
  • Self Hypnosis
  • Hypnotic patterns to work with pain control
  • How to maximize guided imagery
  • Misconceptions-contraindications-myths of hypnosis
  • Skills to create and develop metaphors

NLP Component

NLP provides the therapist with a set of brief therapy techniques to change and understand the neurology, linguistics and basic brain programming of hypnosis. You will learn:
  • how to use anchoring to change states
  • how to use eye movements to quickly induce and deepen hypnotic states
  • step by step methods to build rapport on both verbal and non-verbal levels

Certification

Enrollees who complete the program will receive a formal certificate of achievement.

Continuing Education

Southern Institute of NLP will provide Continuing Education for Florida Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Mental Health Counselors

CEU's: BAP 398 expires 03/31/2009

The National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC #6099).

Ed Reese, MSW, ACSW.
is a licensed clinical social worker in Florida, a Certified Trainer for the Society of NLP and a Diplomat for International NLP. He is a member of the National Assoc. of Social Workers, National Board of Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists, Inc. Ed has trained personally with Milton H. Erickson, MD and with the Ethical Hypnosis Association. He has co-authored Beyond Selling: How to Maximize Your Personal Influence and Megateaching and Learning: NLP Applied to Education. He specializes in phobia and trauma and is currently in private practice in Clearwater, Florida.

Maryann Reese, M.A., LMFT, MT0000443.
Maryann is a member of AAMFT, Nat'l Bd of Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists Inc., and Tampa Bay Association for Women Therapists. She is a certified NLP trainer.

Maryann was recognized as a "Distinguished Clinician" by the Florida State University psychosocial Stress Research Program and Psychosocial Stress Clinical Laboratory's "Active Ingredient" Project.
